Conference on Guru Padmasambhava
Guru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche is known as the Sage of Himalayas. He lived in the 8th century and is credited with having spread the message of Lord Buddha to the countries and regions located in the Himalayan belt. The Conference seeks to explore the life and legacy of Guru Padmasambhava in their various dimensions.
The CEP focuses on convening India-Bhutan Dialogues where the free exchange of ideas can take place. Under the banner of The Thimphu Seminars, these Track II dialogues are being held at a bilateral level between Bhutan and India. To date, eight rounds of the India-Bhutan Dialogue have taken place with the ninth round scheduled to be held in April 2018.
Public sessions where eminent persons are requested to deliver a lecture or participate in panel discussions are organised by the CEP throughout the year. Many of these public sessions have been convened as a part of The Thimphu Seminars initiative with at least two events taking place each year, once in India and once in Bhutan.
