APSI 2017

APSI 2017

The design of APSI 2017 comprised of a foundation programme with all the participants coming together for about two weeks. It was followed by an online component which lasted for about eight months and at the end there was a concluding programme which again brought everyone together for presenting completed projects to a larger audience and bringing a closure to the programme.

The APSI 2017 had two parallel programmes: one residential programme with the international participants where the participants spent time together during Foundation programme and the concluding programme. The other one was a day programme with schools from Delhi, NCR. Together, the programmes comprised of a total of 88 participants (66 students and 22 teachers), which, aside from Indian participants, included students and teachers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, and UAE.

PROGRAMME: INTERNATIONAL CHAPTER

The inaugural session started on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 and ended on Friday, December 1, 2017 – it was a combined residential and online programme. The residential part of the programme (two weeks in March and another two weeks in December) was conducted primarily in the town of Jhalawar in Rajasthan, India. In between these two residential segments, the participants – both students as well as teachers -- continued to collaborate and work together on projects of their choice using various online platforms from their respective home locations.

The participants had various learning experiences which introduced them to different areas of explorations and they chose their projects according to personal preferences and inclinations. Teachers were as much a participants as any student and the teachers were also a part of the project teams. Participating schools came from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand and U.A.E as well as from Delhi and Jhalawar, Rajasthan.

PROGRAMME: NATIONAL CHAPTER

The programme had the same design as the other programme except that the participants came together only during the day and there was no residential component. It started on Thursday, April 6, 2017 and ended on Friday, December 1, 2017- it was a combination of day sessions during the Foundation and the Concluding programme and the online programme during the eight months. The participants also had learning experiences that introduced them to the areas of exploration and they also learned about watermarks and skills that led them to understand the concept of Leadership through Serene Strength. The participating schools were mostly from Delhi NCR and Mumbai.

The Concluding Programme that culminated on December 1, 2017 in Delhi brought together the participants from both the programmes. They had team building activities and had a chance to share experiences. They also showcased their work and celebrated the APSI journey together. The programme concluded amidst a great sense of fellowship and having embarked on a journey together of being young leaders working for peace and harmony in the world.
