Beyond the Textbook: Designing Learning Experiences for Deeper Engagement

Textbooks provide structure, sequencing, and alignment to the curriculum. However, deep learning emerges when students connect ideas to real-world contexts, engage in dialogue, inquire critically, and reflect thoughtfully on what they are learning.
“Beyond the Textbook” does not imply abandoning structure. Rather, it invites educators to expand how learning is designed and experienced. This webinar will explore how classrooms can become dynamic and inclusive learning ecosystems where collaboration, inquiry, reflection, and dialogue are woven into everyday teaching. Inclusion remains central: learning experiences must acknowledge diverse backgrounds, abilities, and ways of understanding, ensuring multiple pathways for participation and expression.
The discussion will focus on practical strategies that work within existing curricular frameworks. Panelists will share classroom practices and leadership perspectives demonstrating how academic rigour can coexist with student voice, curiosity, and connected understanding. Participants will reflect on moving from content coverage to meaningful engagement, and from uniform delivery to thoughtful, inclusive learning design.
